Emily Jane Browning was born on the 7th of December 1988 in Melbourne, Victoria Australia. She was discovered in a school play by a scout and her acting career begun there at the young age of 8 years old.
Emily has 2 younger brothers who think she is the best sister in the whole world.
Emily is currently spending 6 months in Los Angeles with her family while she films Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, alongside Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep. Her brothers, Nicholas and Matthew are in love with Jim Carry and are hoping to hang out with him during the 6 month stay.
Emily is a bit nervous about working with her co-star Jim Carrey because "I'm just scared I'll get fired because I'll be laughing too much."
Emily must use an American accent for the movie which she picked up while watching Sesame street growing up.
Emily is getting treated to a Hollywood trailor in the backlot behind the studio while filming is in progress.
Does she feel like a star yet?
"It's really strange, when I was in my trailer it made me feel a bit overwhelmed, I kind of thought I don't really belong here," she laughed. "But hopefully I'll get used to it."
Emily is still a normal 15 year old girl who loves to laugh and hang out with her girlfriends, but she talks about blue-screens and post-production like most teenage girls talk about boys and movies.
Emily doesn't like to watch her own work, but sometimes feels that she has to. She also says that the worst part about acting is "getting up early" and if you have an uncomfortable costume like she did in Ghost ship during the under water scenes.
Emily's main worry is that she'll burn out as an actress early, so she chooses her roles very carefully and does not go for cheesey kids movie roles or teen movie crap.
"I just want to stick to good stuff and not be over publicised so it can go steadily until I'm older" says Emily.
If acting doesn't work out for Emily, she would like to get into fashion design.
