Jessica Biel was born on the 7th of March, 1982 in Ely, Minnesota, and then grew up in Boulder, CO. She was first discovered at the 1994 IMTA Los Angeles Convention where she earned a scholarship to Diane Hardin's Young Actors Space in Los Angeles.
Modelling followed for Ms Biel untill in 1996 she was cast as Preachers daughter, Mary Camden on 7th Heaven. She was then cast as Peter Fonda's granddaughter in 1997 in the film 'Ulee's Gold', and then cast as Jonothan Taylor Thomas's girlfriend in 'I'll be home for Christmas' (1998).
Jessica Biel got fed-up of playing the good girl on TV after a few years of it and tried to force the producers of 7th Heaven to release her from her contract, but they wouldn't let her out of it, so she rebelled by posing topless for such magazines as Gear which finally got her sacked from the show. Biel claimed that her 7th Heaven "good-girl" image lost her the role that went to Thora Birch in American Beauty.
Sadly for Biel though, the controversy surrounding her exposure to magazines did not immediately improve her acting career, but she finally landed the role of Freddie Prince JNR's love interest in the 2001 flick 'Summer Catch' which unfortunately did not sell very high at the box office. Before that Biel had been making occasional guest appearances as her initial Mary Camden character on 7th Heaven until she landed the Summer Catch role, but she then got cast as Lara in 2002's 'The Rules of Attraction'. Last year Biel made a stunning performance in the 2003 remake of 1970's flick 'The Texas Chainsaw massacre' playing leading Heroine Erin. The movie is set to be released onto DVD and video March 3rd 2004.
